His widow married (2)19 December 1845 Samuel Warwick and after her death, he remarried. Laurene died before 1879 and is allegedly buried in the old Presbyterian cemetery at Buckingham. Family tradition says he was deformed in both hands and feet at birth, a congenital defect which has been inherited in many of his descendants. He was a farmer and logger. born about 1828 in Chatham township, Argenteuil, Quebec. The family moved to Buckingham about 1830, but shortly after his marriage, Mills returned to Argenteuil county. Remarried 26 February 1845 Elizabeth Warwick. She was the daughter of John and Christiana (Lackie) Warwick and born in Chatham township on 21 August 1828. Mills was named for his maternal grandmother's surname and appears as such in many records and is so remembered by many Buckingham descendants. On the 1861 census, his name is spelled "Miles" and his Pine Hill and MI descendants remember him as such. He used the spelling and pronunciation "Miles". He was a farmer at Pine Hill and died these on 18 February 1904. His widow died at Staynerville at the home of their son William on 21 May 1909. Both are buried at Edina cemetery. There is a question of birthdates for last two children William and Charles Colin--William's date is 24 May 1868 and Charles Colin is 8 September 1868. (possibly should be 1869?)
