John served in the Revolutionary War. They lived a number of years at Leicester, MA, but about 1800 moved to Spencer. In his old age he moved again and died in Worcester on 25 April 1843, age 87 years. His wife Persis died 09 December 1842.
He served in the Revolutionary War, filling in for his injured brother James. After the war, he turned up in Mason county, KY, from where he served in the War of 1812. On 06 December 1814, in Mason county, he married Nancy Cheyney or Cheney, born circa 1790, possibly a daughter of James and Sarah (Waters) Cheney. They had 3 children born in Mason county, after which they moved to Bracken county, where Joseph died about 1833. His widow appears as head-of-family through 1850, but appears to have died before 1860
He was a blacksmith by trade. When but 17 years of age, he entered the Revolutionary War, and served for some time until injured, after which he returned home, securing his brother Joseph as a substitute. (The injury was from a fall, incurred while building barracks.)
He was married in Spencer on 18 December 1783 to Mary GRAHAM, daughter of James and Jane GRAHAM; she was born in Spencer 06 June 1762. They lived a few years in Spencer, then briefly in Shutesbury, after which they settled at Chester a number of years. In 1808 he and his family removed to Mt. Pleasant township, Wayne county, PA, where he set up a blacksmith shop, and lived out his life. He received a military pension in his old age. He and his wife Mary died but a few hours apart, on the same day in 1842 (date not available). They are buried in the Presbyterian cemetery.

For the last 20 years of his life, John was in the employ of the National Wire Mfg. Co., of which his brother, Jonah H., (14261.38), was one of the Company. John died 13 May 1887 in Worcester.

He began his career as a painter of locomotives and railcars, and in later life was an executive with Scientific Production Company, a paint manufacturing company headquartered in New York City. He married first, at an unknown date prior to 1894, Rachel R., and had two sons. Rachel died of influenza in April 1919 at the age of 48. Edward married second, Nellie Thomas on 20 June 1920. Nellie was born 04 December 1886 in Washington, DC. She graduated from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in NYC (now the Columbia University School of Nursing) in 1911. Edward and Nellie had two sons and one daughter. Edward died 03 January 1962 in Huntington Station, NY. Nellie died 18 September 1986 in Bellevue, WA

Army medic in Europe during WWII
was a weatherman in the Army Air Corps during the Second W orId War, and graduated from Boston University in 1949 with a degree in journalism. He was a newspaper reporter, editor and columnist, primarily in New York, where he spent many years with the New York Post. From 1963 to 1974 he was an editor and columnist with the Honolulu Advertiser in Honolulu, Hawaii. He returned to work for the Post in 1976.
He married, first, Jeanne Marie Grayle, in 1949, in Harwichport, Massachusetts. Jeanne was born December 25, 1921, in Littlestown, Pennsylvania. She graduated ftom Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 1943, and received a master's degree in education from Boston University in 1949. Jeanne died August 20, 1971, in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Robert and Jeanne had one son, Jonathan*, born September 12, 1955, in Nassau County, New York.
Robert married, second, Phyllis Ronnie, in 1973. They had no children.
Robert died January 5, 1985, in Queens, New York
Jonas served in the Civil War: 6th Regt., U. S. Calvary, for 3 years. Then he re-enlisted in a Regt. of Ohio infantry and served to the close of the war, but was taken prisoner in PA. He was soon exchanged and later seved under Gen. Sherman in his "March to the Sea". They resided in
Prominent in G.A.R., Knights Templar, temperance movements, and the Methodist Church.
He was a deacon of the Baptist church, and cleared a large farm, later owned by grandson Winfield Tiffany
