ALEPPO - Wetta, Delphine D. (Thome). Loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma died August 21, 2013. She was born November 18, 1915, the daughter of Matt and Katie (Hilger) Thome at Goddard, KS. On April 17, 1940, she married George J. Wetta at St. Mark's Catholic Church. Delphine was a life long member of the Altar Society, active in 4-H, an excellent seamstress and homemaker and a partner of the Wetta Egg Farm. After George's retirement, they traveled to Hawaii, European countries, Kenya and Egypt. After George's health declined, they decided to move from the farm to a retirement center. She is survived by four sons and six daughters, Sister Therese Wetta, ASC of Wichita; Norbert (Jan) of Wichita; Louis (Ruth) of Andale; Alice Marcum of Leavenworth; Marlene (Wayne) Rethman of El Dorado; Paul (Susan) of Wichita; Joanne (Mark) Moore of Mulvane; Earl (Janice) of Garden Plain; Eileen (Arlan) Murry of San Jose, California; Janet Brandes of Wichita; 24 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and her brother, Frank. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years and an infant son, George Jr., two brothers and five sisters. Wake services and rosary on August 23 at 4:00 and 7:00 pm; Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am on August 24, all at St. Mary's Church (Aleppo), 25741 W. 13th St. North. Memorials to The Lord's Diner and the Disabled American Veterans of Wichita. Wulf-Ast Mortuary.
