SOURCES: Bernard Heinrich’s parents’ names were on his marriage record in 1832 in Lengerich parish. His approximate year of birth was known from his death record at St Boniface parish. Siblings’ baptismal records had been found in Lengerich parish so that parish’s records were checked again and a corresponding entry was found there for Bernard Heinrich. His marriage in 1847 was found in the county marriage index. The children born in 1832 and 1835 were from the passenger list of the ship Cumberland. Children born in 1840 and 1842 were found in St Boniface baptism records. The remaining children were known from censuses.

Some records show her last name as Maue, though that might be a mistake, or a partial form of the first wife's name, Mauentoebben. The marriage index shows her last name as Menser.
